Launch of the GMC Life Sciences Fund

We were pleased to be invited to the launch of the £20m GMC Life Sciences Fund, a partnership between Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, Bruntwood SciTech and Praetura Ventures to support the scale up of life science companies across the region.

7i Group Ltd had been commissioned by Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership to undertake a ‘mapping and gapping’ research project of the life sciences sector across the region. It was great to see that some of the key insights from our research has informed the strategy for the development of this sector in the region. The vision for the sector was discussed at the event by Clare Hayward MBE DL, Kath Mackay, Chris Oglesby and the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham. Speaking at the fund’s launch at Circle Square in Manchester, Andy Burnham said: “The region’s life sciences sector continues to turn heads on the global stage, living up to our heritage of consistently pioneering and generating world-firsts”.
